There are a lot of rumor regarding the most anticipated iPhone 7. One these rumors involves the phone’s headphone jack. However, as it is with rumors, they are not always true. Though Apple supposedly announced that the new iPhone will without a headphone jack, it turns out that audio will transmitted via a Lightning port through Bluetooth. However, as Apple and its smartphone counterparts try to eliminate the headphone jack, not all people seem to be pleased with it.
Apple has continuously step beyond its limits by bypassing older standards and adding new innovations to their tech. for instance, it removed the floppy drive in iMac G3. Then, there’s the absence of headphone jack. However, Apple customers can’t but scratch their heads as a number of devices rely on the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
To prevent things from getting worse, Apple will be including an adapter for headphones. Though this seems to be a bit absurd, Apple users can really do nothing about it. On the other hand, other smartphone companies are now also releasing products without headphone jacks.
Though removal of headphone jack may not be inevitable in the near future, maybe doing it right now is the best decision to make. For instance, people cannot always play music in devices equipped with headphone jacks. In the end, with iPhone, people will be forced to carry around an adapter just in case they need to plug in 3.5 mm headphones.
Meanwhile, in the case of Android smartphones, users will experience some comfort with the help of USB Type-C. USB alternate modes allow users to output four-signal audio over a Type-C port. People can use USB Type-C for audio and charging with just a single port. Thus, consumers can expect to see more related products in the near future.
On the other hand, next year, phone users should not be surprised to see more units without any headphone jacks. Still, they should hold on to their old phones and 3.5 mm headphones until they are ready to embrace new technological innovations in smartphone technology.
